Hi, I just finished building my Raspberry Pi 4 unit. I installed the RetroPie image using the Raspberry Pi Imager program. When I launch the unit, I get the game controller setup screen. The only peripherals I have attached to the unit is a wireless mouse and keyboard using a USB dongle.

I have a Bluetooth controller. The 8bit-do SN30 Pro+. I would like to configure this controller but don't know how to even get to the menus to do that.

Can someone point me to some documentation or help me with this? From what I've seen so far on "How to" videos, they all seem to use a wired controller or a wireless controller to do the setup.

Here are my details. Thank you.

Pi Model: Raspberry Pi 4 model B with 4GB
Power Supply used: Generic power supply that meets requirements
    RetroPie Version Used: 4.7.1
Built From: Raspberry Pi Imager on blank SD card
USB Devices connected: Keyboard and Mouse
    Controller used: 8bit-do SN30 Pro+
    Error messages received: N/A
    Verbose log (if relevant): N/A
Guide used: Various "how to " videos
    File: N/A
    Emulator: RetroPie
    Attachment of config files: N/A

Almost all USB keyboards are plug and play.

So just use the keyboard and go to Bluetooth settings.

@addison , thank you. That is basically my question. How do I use the keyboard to get to the menus?

@fretman Press a button on the keyboard and configure it, just like you'd configure a gamepad. Then you'll be able to navigate EmulationStation and access the RetroPie system and setup script.

@mitu , thanks. I will try again. I messed it up the first time as I kept getting pages of controls to assign a button to and did not know what to press on the keyboard.

@fretman Obviously won't help you but I always have a cheap wired controller to use when I need to set up BT controllers for the first time. Can get one for around £7 off Amazon and works as a handy backup if need be. Good choice on the pro+ as they're awesome

@hawkes_84 , thank you for the suggestion. I was able to find my way to the options menu finally with the keyboard. But going forward, I like your idea too. I'll try and find an inexpensive one around my local shops here.

@fretman yeah anything will do just to get the bluetooth ones sorted. These are all things you'll learn as progress as a Raspberry Pier
