I just got an actually N64 controller from a friend, and I was wondering if there is any way I can get a rumble pack to work with retropie.
Thank you for your time. I'm using retropie 4.7 .1 on a raspberry pi 4.

        ?not sure but,
lr-mupen64plus-next has an option for haptic feedback/vibration in the menu so an original controller through a May Flash adapter might work?

@unknown https://www.raphnet-tech.com/products/n64_usb_adapter_gen3/index.php more expensive but this is a good option as well for getting N64 rumble paks to work on usb

@retropieuser555 Is there something you have to enable in retroarch to get it working?

If you're using one of the RetroArch Mupen64 cores, there's an option for the core to set the Pak1 as 'rumble'(see https://docs.libretro.com/library/mupen64plus/#core-options). Any controller that's supports rumble can be used, you're not limited to N64 (original) controllers. The game has to support it the rumble pak, so you should test with an appropriate game.

@unknown yup, I believe so although I use the standalone mupen64plus and the rumble works that way. You have to change the config as certain games need the memory Pak instead so you can save. I think there's even a couple of games that use both, but I think there's a way to change the config file midgame, so you'd have to one or the other for those.

I also got a memory pak with the controller. However I am pretty sure it is emulated internally and the real thing is not compatible. Is this correct?

@unknown nah the memory is emulated, don't think a proper emulator could read the data from a real memory card; that would be cool though.
