@OldDucGuy yes, put it on a UBS drive in the bios folder and it will copy. there are no psx bios files on github - they are copyrighted content.

So I put a scph1001.bin file into my usb in the retropi bios folder and plugged it into the pi... it blinked for a few then stopped... but there is no bios file in the folder and the game doesn't see it either...

I seem to be missing some steps.

Had to look in the retropie bios and not the raspberry pi bios... found it... now to associate it with the psx....

@OldDucGuy there's no association needed. if it's the right file, and named correctly, you're ok. it's case-sensitive - see the link above.

Odd... it says there is no bios... perhaps either the roms or the bios is bad.

@OldDucGuy it needs to be named SCPH1001.BIN Capsare important. And it needs to be in /home/pi/RetroPie/bios/ you dont need to "associate" anything with the psx emulator.

Your best of getting arcade version to work, after all namco game disks are emulators themselves so in effect your emulating a psx emulating the arcade game.

Pointless. Cut out the middle man.

I can confirm that Galaga works fine in lr-mame2003 with a 0.78 romset.

@rbaker I have all the parent and clone files... do I zip them together or keep them as separate zips? (hijacking my own thread into a MAME discussion)

If you plan to run only the parent (Namco version) then just keep the parent. If you want to run a clone, you need the parent plus clone file if using split romsets, or just the clone file if using a non-merged romset (easiest). I see no purpose to "merged" sets (all files from clones and parent in one file).
