      @obsolete maybe should have mentioned that :)

      ok so that is surely your issue. you're using hdmi_safe=1, which forces

      hdmi_group=2 hdmi_mode=4

      which means 640x480. it may be that your TV puts borders on such a low resolution, and there's nothing you can do about that after the fact.

      i would change hdmi_safe=0 and manually edit hdmi_group and mode to something sensible for your TV. probably:

      hdmi_group=1 hdmi_mode=16

      or

      hdmi_group=2 hdmi_mode=82

      btw config_hdmi_boost=9 does nothing on a pi4.

      @JustNiko02 Run glxinfo from a terminal and check the version reported by the program. See https://askubuntu.com/questions/47062/what-is-terminal-command-that-can-show-opengl-version.

      @mitu Alright thank you so much, I've discovered that the reason that my control only worked on Spider-Man was because that game supported Dualshock and not all ps1 games support Dualshock. What happened is when I went into the options menu, I had the pad type originally on standard and moved it to Dualshock, not all ps1 games are compatible with Dualshock and are only playable through Standard pad type. Thanks for the article @mitu I really appreciate it homie ❤.

      That seems to have worked @mitu , thanks.

      However, the script didn't want to update at first, I had to do a "git stash" beforehand as an error was thrown up over lots of updated files

      Playing again now though, so happy!

      PSX games load to black screen, then back to menu. Deleting retorach.cfg allows game(s) to launch ONCE

      @dankcushions Thank you for the reply. I figured it was something like that.

      What is the best way to delete all core overrides at once? Using the retoarch menu or by deleting a specific config file?

      Thanks for your help.

      @blujumanji when I recently loaded a new retropie image I was really confused because I had the same bios files on my older image and suddenly with the new image the PSX ROMS wouldn’t load. Oddly once I updated the lr-pscx-rearmed emulator from binary it suddenly worked with no other changes. I had thought that wouldn’t be necessary to update because I had just downloaded the “brand new” retropie 4.4 image and the PSX emulator is part of the image so I figured it would be “up to date.” But apparently that is not the case. So maybe try putting both bios folders in again and updating the emulator (go to retropie setup, manage packages, I think lr- psx rearmed is under either main or optional, and then update, update from binary) and see if that works.

      If you have the games in the zip folder still it wont read it which is why you would need to extract the image files in order for it to show up.
      So the formats that it mainly reads are ISO, IMG, Bin/Cue and PBP so make sure your games in that format when in the folder ok.

      @darksavior said in psx emulator not working. tryd everything:

      @steptoe Eh..even the most minimal of compression, eboot conversion is still my preferred way. Especially to convert multi-disc games to a single eboot file. You still need a cue file for .img.
      It also doesn't hurt that just about every US release is already converted and it's more convenient to download those instead.

      I pretty much do the eboot way as well cause some of my games i have copied over to ISO's would total up to around 1.4GB which after converting them to eboot files it would usually drop down to a little over 900mb instead which i am able to add more games onto my Pi because of that.

      @pcnoob90 First, give us some more details about your system and problem and answer the questions from https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

      2nd, the most frequent issue for PSX or cd based games are:

      BIOS file is missing - this is specific to the PS1 emulator. Check the emulator page in the docs and make sure the bios file is present and has the correct name. your .cue and .bin are not correctly named - Linux is case sensitive for file names so check your .cue files (https://retropie.org.uk/docs/PC-Engine/#pc-engine-cd).

      @amused86 Good luck dude. Its a great prezzy to get for sure :)

      Could you pick up the rom / disks from elsewhere and replace the ones which you have on your box? worth a shot i guess.
