Rasbian and Emulationstation
-
I made a small arcade box for my pi with arcade buttons and a joystick. They are hooked up via GPIO and using Retrogame I can use them to play on emulationstation. I had to have rasbian as my os to keep the retrogame running to use the imputs but I do not want to use a keyboard to boot into emulationstation every time, is there a way to just boot straight into emulationstation without going to CLI?

@Till3r take a look at the
raspi-config
tool. There's an autologin option there. -
It only gives me options to boot into CLI or GUI, no way to boot into emulationstation.
-
@Till3r now you have to execute retropie_setup and then Configuration / tools -> autostart
-
I would kiss you if i could! Thank you so much!

@Till3r amazing the documentation available.. https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/FAQ/#how-do-i-boot-to-the-desktop-or-kodi

@herb_fargus this info could be in the "Manual installation" wiki page. I'll take a look at it...

@meleu I'm not really sure the best way to address linux specific tweaks e.g. booting to specific programs, boot optiones, etc they vary depending on the platform too - pi vs pc, retropie starts to get a bit complicated
No doubt the documentation still has room for improvement

@herb_fargus
I've just added a link to that FAQ entry :)https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Manual-Installation#boot-to-emulationstation
