      Background is I haven't played with the RetroPie since Verson 4 Beta last year I believe. I just started back up last week and before I playing I upgraded the Raspbian software and updated RetroPie version to 4.2.2. NES, SNES, and sega are working normal. The issue I'm having is with PSX.

      The original problem started when I was playing LoD and reached the first disk change. I attempted to follow the guide marked below to go through the disk change using the RGUI. I was unable to locate any disks in during the "disk image append" step. I then went back to the retropie PSX menu and attempted to play one of the other playstation 1 games. Of the 6 i have, only 2 played, the first disk of Legend of Dragoon and Crash Bandicoot. The other 4 would simply go into a black screen and my monitor pops up with a message "out of range." I'm unable to open the RGUI and the only way to get out of this was to "select" + "start" out. I'm guessing this may be why i'm not able to see the game in the "disk image append" step.

      I've tried most of the comments on the forums. Here are the ones so far:
      Reload BIOS
      Update all installed packages and retropie script
      Removed and reinstalled lr-pcsx-rearmed by binary and source
      Double checking that I've installed the PSX emulator correctly following a guide

      I loaded the pcsx_rearmed emulator and I'm able to load these games. But I loose my controller, most likely cause I've never setup the controller for that emulator. I'm stubborn trying to get the lt_pcsx_rearmed to work since before the update the games were working fine.

      Pi Model or other hardware: 3
      Power Supply used: 5V 2A charger
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.2.2
      Built From: on top of existing Raspbian
      Controller used: Logitech F310
      Guide used:
      for disk change (

      )
      for PSX installation (
      )
      Emulator: lr_pcsx_rearmed

        @thellin1 ok here you go. the out of range problem. right after you choose a out of range game, you need to go into the "press a button to configure" menu right before the game loads and remove video option for rom. you have it set to a format your tv doesnt like. for your disk append problem, open up /opt/retropie/configs/psx/retroarch.cfg and add this line above the #include... line

        rgui_browser_directory = /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/psx/

          Thank you Edmaul69! That fixed everything. I didn't realize the "out of range" was a setting issue. I thought it was something to do with the system locking up and being a lost of signal. The added line of code let the append work as well. Thanks again!
