Complete gamelist.xml for popular systems + covers => challenge accepted!

Re: [Metadata / game description] feedbacks wanted + idea => Completed!!
Today I just achieved my goal to finalize complete gamelists for the following systems \o/ It took me an enormous amount of time and I hope it's worth it! I was not happy with the data scraped by default and so I decided to collect, organize, filter and verify the info for the games we all loved when we were younger :) I'm keen to share this with others as it's important to share knowledge and data, this also to improve/proof-read or add stuff to the existing material. At least I hope it'll be easier to start from a common material rather than none.
- NES/Famicom (not FDS) (1505)
- Super Nintendo (1750)
- Megadrive/Genesis (961)
- Sega32x (37)
- PCEngine (338 - includes ~10 CD games)
- Master System (333)
- Neo Geo (159)
- N64 (400)
- Extras: some popular Amiga games (75), Mame (251), FBA (85) as well as some ScummVM (12) and PSX games (63).
To be very clear: every single game for each system as a complete description, publisher, developer, # of players, genre as well as date of release. Also I have a full collection of covers using best possible resolution. I have resized those images to 600px in width as it gave best result on a pi2 (and using jpg instead of png). Same as for metadata every single game does have a cover using the best possible resolution/quality available (some games covers are nearly impossible to find in decent quality).

@nemo93 thegamesdb.net and screenscraper.fr are database designed just for game metadata and the sources from which the scrapers pull their metadata so if they are going to be pulled from anywhere it's those sites. Anyone can sign up to them and add content.
The libretro team also has github repositories of metadata for their thumbnails and game details as well

@herb_fargus didn't @sselph add the libretro thumbnails as a source for his scraper?

Thanks! do you know by chance any script or whatever that could upload/populate those sites based on my xml files? Tbh I don't want to edit each game on those sites given the massive number! and also my limited time :(

Hi @nemo93
We have some automated function on Screenscraper to mass upload some stuff ^^ but nothing from an gamelist XML...I must ask the Screenscraper big boss to see what he can do ;)
I think most of your info are already in the DB, but it's always good to check and validate these info (it's a comunity project, and we can have some mistake sometime ^^)
Maybe you can upload your work on MEGA (or something like that) and I will see what I can do to put it on Screenscraper so it will be available with SSelph's scraper and Universal XML Scraper ;) (and every other software who use the API ^^)

Thanks Guys. This screenscraper.fr project and community look simply amazing. Apparently a French initiative?! I didn't know about it. I'll be glad to participate. I'll find a way to share my work tomorrow and I'll update this thread. Keep you posted. Meanwhile if you have any question please shout.
oh and I don't seem to be able to pick screenscraper in the Scraper menu under ES. Only TheGamesDB is there. Did I do something wrong?

I've added a link to Mega with the material in my first post. Enjoy!

Hello! do you still have these files? The links seem to no longer work :(
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
