      Hello,

After my initial problem with emulationstation ( https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/11626/cannot-swap-button-anymore-in-emulstation-s-config ) I decided to reinstall it from the Retropie-Setup script. And now I'm stuck with a broken EmulationStation. Whenever I boot up instead of EmulationStation I'm greated with a popup screen saying "We can't find any systems ! Check that your paths are correct in the systems configuration file, and your game directory has at least one game with the correct extension. Visit emulationstation.org for more information".
And I've got a similar message in the log which only add "Also, make sure you've updated your es_systems.cfg xml)". Any tips or ideas about how to get back my retropie right on track please ?

UPDATE : looks like my /etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg is missing ... and the /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg is the example one ...

UPDATE 2: Well looks like Updating everything generated the files back. So it's solved until it breaks again :p

      Specs : Raspberry Pi3
      RetroPie Version : 4.2.10,

I gave up on Retropie. I can no longer use external storage anymore which means no more PS games since they won't fit on a SD card. Even restoring from a good working backup gives me this error. I am just going to hook up my PC to my TV so I can play the classic and the more advanced games. This Retropie is a mess.

@tony_retrogamer I can run games from USB just fine, though I'm not using the common method. I'm editing the es_systems.cfg to point at /media/usb0/. Retropie is having more bugs lately, though. My pads buttons no longer works in retropie-setup. Only the dpad works.

@darksavior try hooking up a second controller and see if that works in the retropie setup. My second controller works in retropie setup now.

Thanks I will try that soon but I am tired after messing around with it for over three hours with very little sleep.

@tony_retrogamer make sure you edit the es_systems.cfg in /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/ otherwise it will get overwritten if you update.
