So I was playing Final Fantasy Origins on easy mode in the default PSX emulator to reminisce without the grind and limits of the original NES, and save stating along the way for ease. Well, my last save state attempt I fumbled the controller and it saved the state to Slot 0 but the controller no longer responds to the rom itself. I can still use hotkeys, access RetroArch Config, etc from the point of save but the game itself doesn't recognize gamepad commands ( walking, game menu, talking to people, etc.) so my guy just sits there. Older save states in other slots work fine and the game itself and other games work great until I load that save state. Could I have hit some hotkey that disabled the controller or similar? I looked in RetroArch config and all the buttons/gamepads look to be assigned properly.
I am on Retropie 4.2 with the standard PSX emulator on an RPi3. I just updated today but the game played fine after that until the fumble.

      Any help is much appreciated.
