The Wiiu and 3DS emulation scene will be the area to watch for the foreseeable. Nintendo is about to cut off their online stores. Both scenes are very big on emulators using personal copies of legally purchased games and both systems are still 'current' product for Nintendo. Copyright is copyright no matter the age (in as far as 99% of video games are concerned) and scenes can impose any restrictions they like, but when was the last time someone insisted you have a legit copy of a arcade board for MAME?

I don't see it in any way different than other SBCs based on the RK3399 - there are countless ones released recently (like the Rock/Pine series). The XU4, despite being 'older' I think it has better support as far as RetroPie is concerned (i.e. emulators tested, graphic drivers, GPIO, etc.).
Do note that a better CPU and better graphics usually mean also you need a cooler/heatsink in these cases.

I view this very differently I dont think the open projects will be effected.

Its the private closed ones that where the cash is for github. Imagine all the information ms can get from these private repos for sales and advertising and peek at code ect.

The company doesnt have a vey good past with anti competitive behavior it. The commercial end of github is where they will make the cash from. That is how github makes a profit before ms took it over as well it not all free when you go private
