Help me pls =(
Anyone installed retropie on Pi zero W ? -
You are running emulationstation . It runs on a screen. If you have an HDMI or Composite display connected you will see it. It will not show over ssh. If you still want to run it remotely try VNC for remote desktop.My bad, you installed it on Raspbian. Can you try running it as
sudo emulationstation
? -
You need to exit the desktop environment and run it from console. Or just use the premade sd image.

@Hex
It didn't work
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo emulationstation
emulationstation should not be run as root. If you used 'sudo emulationstation' please run without sudo.
@BuZz
I tried:
sudo raspi-config
3. Boot Options > B1. Desktop / CLI > B2. Console Autologin
sudo reboot
emulationstation
But I didn't work.
Would you telling me how to "exit the desktop environment " ? -
Hi,
I really want to use on Rasbian cause it's more convenient
Please help me,
thanks -
@shaolinkhoa Just as a test, switch to one of the tty consoles accessible using Ctrl+Alt+F1 to F7.
Once in console try running the ES binary.
-
@Hex thank you for your help
I tried:
Ctrl+Alt+F1
in my PC
log in
ssh pi@my_pi0_IP_address
emulationstation
It's still the same
Am I right ? or you mean "the ES binary" is something else ?

Are you trying to run emulationstation from ssh?
-
@shaolinkhoa I meant you should try this on your pi and not your PC.

I dont think that is possible. Might work with VNC, haven't tried though.
-
@Hex
I tried with VNC.
ssh to Pi , start VNC
Open VNC from my PC, open LXterminal in VNC, run emulationstation
It didn't work too.
