I've been trying to get hexen & heretic working properly with controller support without success.

I've got doom & doom 2 working well via prdoom but all I get when tying to run the wad files for hexen & heretic is a black screen. I've had them loading ok with zdoom but they will not work with controllers.

I was just wondering if it's possible to get them to work with controllers or if anyone had any experience in this?

Also is there a way to get duke 3D & quake 3 arena working with controllers?
      (I'm using xbox360 wireless controllers)

I'm relatively new and completely self taught with setting things up & don't have much experience in writing script.

      Many thanks.

@marky489 zdoom will work with controllers. You need to enable controllers in the options, then in that controller you need to turn off axis 4 and higher otherwise you will spin in circles in gameplay. Set what you want axis 0-3 to be. Then there is another option outside of the controller setting where you assign buttons and keys. Configure your controller in there. It sets it up for every doom engine game you use zdoom for. The only issue is you need to use the xboxdrv to set up the esc key and the enter key so you can exit/ use menu without a keyboard. Left and right on your controller is up and down in the menu
