Sselph scraper ScummVM issue
-
I've updated all packages today so I think I have Retropie 4.2.21.
When I use sselph scraper and try to scrape what I have in scummvm folder, I get the same game data saved for every game. Anyone else experience this issue?
<game id="212" source="screenscraper.fr"> <path>./hugo1.svm</path> <name>Arrow Flash</name> <desc>&quot;Arrow Flash&quot; is a side-scrolling space shooter. You control a female spaceship pilot who is sent on a mission into deep space to save the Earth from an assault by an evil dragon from another galaxy. Moving vertically or horizontally, you must avoid or kill the enemies and make it to the end of the level alive, where a boss battle awaits you. During gameplay, you can switch at any time between two modes: normal spaceship and flying robot. The two forms use different weapons and also have different special abilities, called Arrow Flash. While the spaceship can fire destructive lasers for major damage, the robot can raise a shield that will protect you from enemy attacks for some time and instantly kill anything that touches it. You can either charge Arrow Flash attacks by holding a button for several seconds, or collect icons during your flight to release it quickly afterwards.</desc> <image>./boxart/hugo1.png</image> <rating>0.6</rating> <releasedate>19901020T000000</releasedate> <developer>Renovation Products</developer> <publisher>Renovation Products</publisher> <genre>Shoot'em Up / Action</genre> <players>1</players> </game> <game id="212" source="screenscraper.fr"> <path>./hugo2.svm</path> <name>Arrow Flash</name> <desc>&quot;Arrow Flash&quot; is a side-scrolling space shooter. I remember i had lots of misses with both sselph and built-in scraper. Even with XML Universal Scraper V2.
Since i don't have a lot of ScummVM games (20 at best) and don't need metadata other than the cover , i ended up fetching hi-res cover pictures on google image and adjusting them slightly to my needs... It's time consuming, but you end up with a tailor-made result :)Just don't forget to back-up your Downloaded-Images and Gamelist folders once you are set :)

@hurricanefan for screenscraper.fr you should create shortname.scummvm files and scrape those. Because they are linked to the games on screenscraper.fr, so you should find them.
At least that worked for me on Universal XML Scraper after adding *.scummvm to the filelist. Maybe it will work with sselph. You should be able to find a package of all scummvm files on the recallbox forum if you google for universal xml scraper scummvm. -
@ectoone I have short named files that end in .svm is that different than your .scummvm files?
-
@hurricanefan I don't think so, I believe they are just empty files. Retropie uses svm to launch games and recallbox uses scummvm files. The point is, when I tried to scrape them, only the scummvm files where linked to the games.
Oh, forgot to mention that you either have to rename your files to scummvm, scrape, rename them back to svm. Or edit your gamelist.xml afterwards.
