2 player start button?
-
Hello I have searched and failed..
I need a Way to tell retropie, how to find my 2player button.
I have 2 USB-joystick-hubs connected to buttons and joysticks ready for 2 player action.
I used the controller menu ui-setup, but there are no option for a 2 player start button..
What to do?

Hi
I did read the readme - and I forgot to write the version..
I'm using RetroArch 1.6.7 Build date Aug 18 2017.
The Emulation Station is v. 2.6.0RP
It all runs on a RPi 3I've been to /opt/retropie/configs/
But couldn't find where I might change the auto-setup of the two usb-hubs I connected and autoconfigured.
It seems they are recognized as DragonRise Inc. Generic USB Joysticks..
Any help now?

@engberg Is this all installed manually on top of Raspbian? Or are you using the official image? Have you typed Dragonrise into the search bar? There are many instances of incompatibility with Linux.
https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/9550/trouble-configuring-with-dragonrise-generic-usb-joystick
you really should fill out the full form if you want others to suggest stuff. What is in your retroarch.cfg file regarding player two controls? Did you add them?

Yes, yes - the official image - and I don't seem to have incompatability - I just need a player 2 button!
The first link you sent doesn't touch upon the issue I'm having - nor does it offer a solution..
I sincerely do not hope I have to try your second link - as that looks crazy hard for just adding a player 2 button, when the rest is working..I did search both this forum and google for DragonRise - but I'm not even sure the controller is key..
I suspect it would be the same if I had 2 xbox-controllers. I'd still need to press "2" on the keyboard to start at 2-player game..

@rbaker said in 2 player start button?:

Please answer this ^^^^^^^^^^ the file is located at
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg
do you see entires that reference player two?
input_player2_a = "x" input_player2_b = "z" input_player2_y = "a" input_player2_x = "s" input_player2_start = "enter" input_player2_select = "rshift" input_player2_l = "q" input_player2_r = "w" input_player2_left = "left" input_player2_right = "right" input_player2_up = "up" input_player2_down = "down"
Have you read this with regard to
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads
nor does it offer a solution
It offered possible explanation......."Reading around the inter webs, it seems that that brand of joystick has general issues in Linux of all flavors. It may be that there is no good solution other than getting a tried and tested controller that is known to work well"
