      Hi all

I recently tested a RecalBox build on my Pi3 and found the games to run much smoother. No lag etc. There was also a nice shader called Retro which looked rather well.
I was wondering does anyone know how I would enable these features for my Retropie build?

      1. Run all games in lower resolution for better performance

      2. Enable Shader: Retro
        https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/wiki/Shaders-configuration-(EN)

      Any help would be appreciated.

      Thanks guys

      Chris

        1. Check if you have RetroArch set to use the native resolution of the core, I don't know if it helps to actually lower the global resolution for the system.
        2. This looks like the 'crt-pi' shader, available in RetroPie.

For both settings - resolution and applying shaders - use the Retroarch GUI available through the 'Hotkey+X' keys combination (once you're in a game). For more in depth info:

With Mame, there are many different resolutions. Would it not be difficult to do an overall resolution for this?

@retrocraze MAME is a special case, but before going there - try to use the 'Core provided' setting for the Aspect Ratio setting in RetroArch and see if you're ok with it.

In order to conserve resources, I run my setup at 800x600 (hdmi_group=2 hdmi_mode=9).

I'm more fond of original aspect ratios so 720p/1080p is pointless for me. If I need to stretch the image to 16:9, I just use the telly/monitor menu.
