Hi guys, Im having an issue with Retropie not saving my 8Bitdo SN30 Pro controller settings. I can remove and re-add bluetooth device and use configure input and set the controller up. I can configure every button correctly and play games with no problems. But when I restart, I get the message cannot save gameslist.xml before it blinks black and reboots.
When I restart the pie, the configure input sees one gamepad attached, and the controller shows that it is connected (vibrates and light on 1P, but I cannot use any buttons on the gamepad. It is so confusing and annoying. Can anybody please help? Thank you!

Have you updated the firmware on the controller? See this thread as well:

@incunabula yes the firmware is fully updated and I am in Mac mode (start+a) is the gameslist.xml in the main folder something I can delete or edit to correct the issue? Thanks for responding.

@craig85311 The gamelist.xml files are nothing to do with controller configurations. They are the metadata file containing details of the games you have scraped.

@jonnykesh have you ever heard of the controller connecting via Bluetooth, retropie detecting the game pad, but NONE of the buttons working on gamepad?? I’m going to try another gamepad, this is most recent 1.23 firmware update with the new-ish SN30 Pro.
