N64 games working great and then crashing on second launch
-
Hey Everyone, just recently got my first raspberry pi. I have installed the beta version of retropie (the only one that works for 3b+). And got n64 games working great. The only problem is once I've exited the most games they wont start up again.
Tried:
GoldenEye - worked fine failed second boot
Mario Kart 64 - worked great worked on second boot
resident evil 2 - worked great failed on second boot
super mario 64 worked great, failed on second boot
hydro thunder worked fine, failed on second bootSo basically the only game I can play consistently is mario kart... I have a feeling it has something to do with saving... I don't have a usb storage attached which a lot of people recommend. I have a ton of free space though so I thought it wouldnt matter.
Any fix?
Details Below:
Pi Model: 3b+
Power Supply used: 5.2V...
RetroPie Version Used: 4.3.15 (beta)
Built From: Premade retropie from github
USB Devices connected: keyboard, ps4 controller
Controller used: ps4
Error messages received: ?
Emulator: n64 auto
How to replicate the problem: choose a game, play it, exit it, launch it again, CRASH -

@tashman the solution in the link seems a bit convoluted to me (again, I'm noob) but I am assuming what is being said is that the raspbian is out of date on the retropie 4.3.15 image so I've got to update it.
Is there a way to check the current raspbian version and check what it should be on retropie 4.3.15?
Since retropie 4.3 gives me a rainbow screen I guess I have to either install from fresh raspbian (which works) or somehow update from retropie 4.3.15.

@jjapes Just update mupen64plus via retropie-setup.
