      And it's simple enough to update from the beta once there is a final release as I don't anticipate too many major changes before release

        Very soon now. Unfortunately (only in regards to timing) they just bumped the kernel so I want to do some final testing. I may do a release candidate on the forum this weekend. Hopefully a new official image next week.

                  Will the stretch version become retropie 4.4 as well?
