Noob here, Tab doesn't work in MAME for me. Does anyone have step by step instructions to fix it?

Assuming you're using lr-mame2003, try deleting
/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-libretro/mame2003/cfg/default.cfg -
@mediamogul I'm looking for instructions how to do that.

You can use SFTP or access the Samba shared directory from Windows. Alternatively, you could type the following into the command-line.
rm /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-libretro/mame2003/cfg/default.cfg -
Just curious if this was resolved. I am having the same problem but the posted solution doesn't work for me. My pi doesn't have that file in that directory and thus it cannot be deleted.

Please start a new thread with the requested information detailed at https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first. Using that information, we'll be able to zero in on where the file is located.
