      Hi there

First time poster. Been tinkering with n64 games on pi 3. Little bit of overclocking testing, waiting on an ordered fan case to arrive so nothing major. During this testing, some games (eg, banjo kazooie) have changed and are very pixelated. Wasn’t like this before. I have removed all overclocking and put the image backup I made before starting the tinker back on the mem card. It’s still pixelated. Other games are not.

This happened once before when I was changing default emulators for around 10 games. I was changing them to the same as a list I’d found online that gave recommendations on which default emu worked for which games. Half the games went pixelated, even though they were fine before.

Any ideas why this is happening? A fix, maybe delete a config file from somewhere? Main thing would be trying to avoid it in future, I’m wanting to give the pi to a friend and don’t want it doing this to them :)

      Cheers. Chris.

@avengerfishing you can try selecting gliden64-highres or other emulators via the runcommand https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/runcommand

Thanks for your suggestion. I managed to get every game back to unpixelated by using FTP and deleting mupen64plus.cfg

Second time I’ve had to do that. Any idea why?

It kind of looks like some games reject the default emulator setting that I’ve set (gles2n64) and revert to lr-mupen64plus. I think that because I went into retropie setup>manage main packages>mupen64plus and removed it. Then I went and tried to start a 64 game out of interest. They started, pixelated as there was only one emulator available lr-mupen64plus. Just a thought.

Mostly trying to work out why sometimes it randomly decides that certain games will be pixelated from now on. Cheers.
