MULTI ROMS ON A SINGLE SYSTEM
-
I CREATED A FOLDER OF ROMS TRANSLATED
This "trasnlated" folder has subfolders:trasnlated / nes
trasnlated / snes /
trasnlated / megadriveI also created an Emulators.cfg, special for it, with 3 emulators, 1 for each system.
396/5000
The problem is that each system has about 100 roms, and I need to set the specific emulator for "ROM", one at a time. And there are many roms. So I would suggest an update to the "runccomand" menu so you do not need to set one by one the emulator for each rom:Below option 2:
"2 SELECT THE EMULATOR FOR THE ROM"Create the option:
"3 SELECT EMULATOR FOR EXTENSION"Doing this for each rom extension:
".nes",. "sg" ... etc
An emulator would be used. And that would avoid setting the correct emulator, rom BY rom.
My intention is that the RETROPIE select the type of emulator, for the type of extension that each rom has, doing that we could create multi-roms folders with ease. This is a personal demand, but I believe someone has gone through this by creating a folder that runs more than one type of system.Thank you very much, and here I leave my greetings from BRAZIL in MACEIO / ALAGOAS.

If you wish to assign in-masse a list of ROMs, look in the
emulators.cfg
file for the system, where these settings (ROM overrides) are saved. If you save one override per sub-folder, you can then generate the same entries for each ROM in that sub-folder and you don't have to manually start each ROM to assign an emulator. The 'emulator-per-extension' suggestion is not so practical, most ROMs are zipped or there are extensions used by multiple emulators (i.e CD based systems that have ROMs in .iso or .cue/.bin files) and accidentally enabling this would potentially break a lot of setups.

@ANDRELLVS why not have a sub-folder 'translations' within each console? eg
/roms/megadrive/translations/
that way, you could just use the right emulator without having to change anything.

@dankcushions
Thanks for the reply.
I did it that way, and it works, but it does not bring the expected result.I still think my runcommand update idea can be used for multiple purposes for everyone.

@ANDRELLVS sorry but runcommand can't work like that. It's not something that I would want to change.
