      My games aren't seeing any mouse-like input all of a sudden. This applies to all the emulators I've started with verbose logging. In all cases, the [INFO] [udev] section has only these two lines:

      [INFO] [udev]: Plugged pad: Logitech Logitech Dual Action (1133:49686) on port #0.
      [INFO] [udev]: Pad #0 (/dev/input/event2) supports 0 force feedback effects.

      There should be at least two separate devices listed here, one a regular mouse, and another the trackball of a TankStick.

      I know that both of these devices are working at the OS level, because if I drop out of ES into the desktop, I'm able to control the mouse pointer with both of these devices.

      This is a new installation that I'm wrestling with. My past ones had been simple RetroPie systems that worked right out of the box, but this time I've "upgraded" to a full x86 PC running Ubuntu 18.04.

      Over the weekend I've been troubleshooting a few things. Yesterday mouse input was working, but not correctly (I was seeing the mouse pointer on the display as well, and it was running into some kind of "stops" that would, e.g., not let it go farther to the left than mid-screen).

      Today that behavior went away, and the mouse input isn't working at all. The only change I've made in the meantime that has anything to do with input is that I disabled the service that makes the tankstick appear as joypads, in favor of using it as a keyboard control.

      This is all on the latest builds - it was a new system on the latest versions of everything, and I've just done an update of everything.

        If the devices are working on OS level, then check for permission issues. You should post the entire log on pastebin.com, not just the 2 lines showing the already detected device.
        What's the output of cat /proc/bus/input/devices ?

          @mitu - thanks for responding.

          Here's my runcommand.log: https://pastebin.com/Kn5zE6SR
          And here's the output from devices: https://pastebin.com/wNaVEii7

          Thanks for any light you can help shine on this.

            There doesn't seem to be anything special about the devices - I see you only have 1 gamepad (which is considered by mame2000), but there are also a few keyboard and mice attached. Barring any permission problems (unlikely), I don't see why RetroArch excludes them - might be something to do with the core ?
            Can you try running with Mame2003 or other RetroArch core (FBAlpha) to see if this changes anything ?
