Retropad --> console mapping display
-
SOrry if this is wrong place for this but I am after some advice.....
I have built my own mini retropie system using pi3+, hardboard and some paint (and glue).
I want to make it really easy for the kids to play.
Finding games etc is fairly easy for them but what they struggle with is the Retropad --> Emulator controller mapping. For example sometimes the A/B buttons are same as in Emulationstation, while for others not.
I want to use the images found here
https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Configuration/
And somehow make them accessible via the menu system.
I have considered using the loading screen for this but this may not stay on for long enough (I know I can extend the time but then it could get annoying if you know already)
Ideally I would like to have either
1 - an item in each console menu to display the PS1--->console map,
or
2 - add a new menu item in Retropie menu
or
3 - create a new fake console so that it appears in console select screen and then fake ROMS that just display the image full screen.
Has anyone done this or similar before?
If not I shall have a play and experiment a bit and post if I have any success.....
