      @amplifuzz did you try and remap or check the mapping in the Retroarch menu?

      Pull up the menu depending on your controller but SNES style controllers is select+X. Then Quick Menu - controls - input section. See if you can remap it there or change the mapping to fit your controller.

      Also...remember C64 games also have joystick port settings to switch. But sound like uiu already have that covered.

      @mitu Thanks! :Banghead: Now that was a typical case of "Betriebsblindheit" (1) inmidst my current setup orgy - Sigh. Should have also tried 'em without the bindings 1st. !

      [1]: I never came along a real translation for that, but Target fixation or Tunnel vision (metaphor) may come close to it.

      I think some use RetroPad in Retroarch?

      You always use a RetroPad in RetroArch when you have a controller. For lr-vice, you can toggle a virtual keyboard by pressing Select, but as far as I know there's no direct mapping for Space for the RetroPad - just for Enter (L2) and Esc (R2).

      Take a look at

      demonstrating how to map 2 4way joysticks to tank controls - including the Atari Battle zone. IMHO as long as you simulate 2 joysticks, you'll be able to map them in MAME to the tank controls.

      For those who would like to input their opinion, there's a discussion going on at github. They are indeed reversed due to CPS titles but that causes cross-type ABXY games to be unplayble without a custom config file.

      @cookingissues the keyboard IS a retropad, but that's not your problem.

      as i said, i think your problem is that you deleted all the retroarch.cfgs. you can probably restore them by reinstalling retroarch and mame2003 and then running emulationstation's input configuration again.

      @meleu said in Setting up two different controllers with different button maps on one game:

      @joelf It's a good question, but I'm afraid there's no way to do that with pure RetroArch configs.

      This is what I thought. I was hoping that retroarch has some way of telling what controller is what, but I wasn't expecting much. I could use the core remap to make player 1 & 2 always arcade layout, and player 3 & 4 always pad style, then hope that the individual roms don't care what position the actual player is in to start a 2 player game, but I think i'd run into issues a lot more than what I am already doing.

      @backstander
      Interestingly enough, it seems retroarch.cfg does not exist in my system and that may be what's causing the issue 0_o

      I'm gonna try resetting to defaults and see what happens! Thanks!

      @hansolo77 haha. Nice story! :-)
      The hotkey and RGUI -> Quick Menu -> Restart has the very same effect, so I think we can screw up the Magneto plans using both ways.
