8BitDo Avoid Repeating Pairing procedure if misclicked "select" button.
-
As the title says, I can succesfully pair my SN30, and everything goes fine across reboots.
The problem is that sometimes while in game, i misclick for too long the "select" button, forcing the controller to re-pairing, loosing the connection and preventig me to doing anything, forcing me to reboot because i can no longer interact with the retropie since it was the only controller connected.
After rebooting i need to use another controller, remove the SN30 from the registered bluetooth devices and repeat the pairing process. There is a way to solve this?
How do I reconnect my controller while still in game? -
@frag91 You can choose another "select" hotkey button but that's probably about all you can do. Just reconfigure the input in ES to a less used button.
The more expensive route is to purchase another controller as many of the other 8bitdo controllers use the START button to power on and entering pairing modes, not the select button.

@KN4THX
The problem it's not the hotkey, a lot of NES games use the select button for doing things in game.
I'm a medium-skilled developer, with some guidance on the retropie bluetooth scripts and stack I could write myself a script which does in background the pairing procedure again, at least with one model, the SN30.
If someone is willing to help or pointing me to who ask questions to, i'll be happy to try to write then publish such script.
