Arcade Stick not working anymore

Using: Raspberry pi 3 pro b with 2A power supply, built from SD Image on RetroPie website, retropie version 4.51,
Usb connected: 2 encoder for arcade buttons, 2 usb extentions cord
Hi guys,
I was playing smb on nes, once i restarted the game my left stick on my arcade was not working anymore, so i restarted the entire machine.
Now if i change the input configs in retropie i can't configure the left D Pad anymore.
I already tried to switch the encoders together (i have one for red side and one for the blue one) it works but after some days this problem retrurns, any clue?
Also when i change the inputs retropie skips the start button.

have you been able to swap in a different stick. can you use the right stick instead of the left?
Could be a hardware issue before it's a software one. Especially if it sounds like you're swapping encoders and the issue comes back. -
