Best Possible Emulators for Pi4

So, I'm kinda new to the retropie and raspberry Pi4 scene. I've been playing with emulators on PC's since 1998 so I'm used to a certain way emulators run, and now it blows my mind with the front ends and all that.
Well, recently I acquired a pi4 4GB model and installed RetroPie 4.6. There are several systems that have multiple emulators. Currently I'm running the "stock" default emulators. But what would be the best emulators for these systems, or a website that explains it more.

@Big_D Retro pie has kind of an opposite way of loading roms from emulators on pc. Instead of opening an emulator and then choosing a rom, you open the rom and select the emulator for each rom. so your roms are organized by system. The advantage of that is that sometimes certain emulators run certain games better than others but keeps all your games together. The emulator becomes just a background thing that happens, when set up, and is invisible to just a casual user. Unless you set it up, no one will know that different emulators are used.
For the most part, the default emulator that is set in retropie is fine, but sometimes a game requires a different emulator that runs the game better. I notice this in SNES, where some games are glitchy on the default emulator which was built in 2010, and have use a newer one. But I don't set it as default because for many games, its just too slow for the PI3 i have, and the 2010 versions runs most games just fine.
Hope that makes sence

There’s some info here: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/issues/2961
I think RetroPie has been set up to default to these emulators if you have a RPi4.
