@supppp when you say they 'won't work' - what do you mean? they don't appear on the games list in the ps1 section? or they appear but don't run?

@supppp show us the file name(s), including extension, of a game that doesn't show up. note that the only supported extensions/ are listed in the first table here: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Playstation-1/

.bin and .cd1 files are not valid extensions for PS1, you should have copied your .bin/.cue files in the psx folder and the .cue files would have been shown in the list. Don't use sub-folders for discs, it's not necessary.

@mitu yes but it also stated that they needed to be labeled cd files for multiple discs

Final Fantasy VII (USA) (Disc 1).CD1 < This is the renamed .cue or .chd file.
Final Fantasy VII (USA) (Disc 2).CD2 < This is the renamed .cue or .chd file.
Final Fantasy VII (USA) (Disc 3).CD3 < This is the renamed .cue or .chd file.
                                Final Fantasy VII (USA).m3u

I do not know how to create the m3u file though

Only of you want to hide them from the list when you're using a .m3u playlist. It's optional and you need to the m3u file created first, otherwise you'll see nothing in the game list.

I do not know how to create the m3u file though

Am .m3u file is a simple text file, which you can edit with Notepad, where you list the .cue/.cd<X> file names, one per line.

Change it to .cue and see if they show up in the list.
