Pi Model or other hardware: 4
      Power Supply used: Stock/Official
      RetroPie Version: 4.7.9
      Built From: Raspberry Pi Imager
      USB Devices connected: Logitech keyboard
      Controller used: 8bitdo (SNES)
      Error messages received: none
Verbose log (if relevant): not relevant
      Guide used: none
      File: n/a
      Emulator: SteamLink

The closest thread I could find on this was here but there wasn't enough detail for what I need. I have tried pairing the 8bitdo controller over bluetooth with all of the different mapping styles I can find, and it is never picked up by Steam Link. I am not using an external bluetooth dongle, and I have tried pairing both as a steam controller and not as a steam controller. This controller will pair and function via bluetooth on other emulators on the same pi, including inside EmulationStation itself, and other apps such as Kodi and Plex.

The controller works in SteamLink if I connect it to the Pi via USB, but that is not my intended setup.

If someone can point me in a direction of a guide for this, or give me suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong here, I would be very appreciative.

I currently have the ability to manage the pi locally via usb keyboard and remotely via SSH.
