Think you did it the wrong way,
enable SSH and samba first and then move the games to raspberry when it´s on.

You get the same error if the folder is missing on a USB drive, then you have to use the command line to access raspi-config and setup.

@khazaztroph sorry, my bad, did write it in wrong order. Of course I've enabled ssh and samba first and then moved games. 😀 (enabled ssh by adding ssh file to root directory)

The .rp files are 0 bytes on my system too, and they all work in the menu so I don't think that's your issue.

You say you tried reinstalling retropiemenu; did you try uninstalling it first, and then reinstalling? That's what I would try first: update retropie-setup script, uninstall retropiemenu, reinstall retropiemenu. See if that gets you anywhere.

If this is a relatively fresh install, there's not a lot to lose; you could always start over and see if it happens on a basic first installation.

@blboun Do you have another sd card that you could try, to rule out a faulty card?

What monitor/TV are you using ? We have reports of menus not working when the installation uses a 4k TV. Try adding to your /boot/config.txt:

                hdmi_max_pixel_freq:0=200000000
                hdmi_max_pixel_freq:1=200000000

and reboot your Pi, then see if the menus are working.

@mitu I am using my 32" 1440p 165Hz MSI monitor, tried adding those two lines... Didn't help
@sleve_mcdichael I tried that too (now, thanks to your advice) didn't help too.
Whenever I try to access bluetooth menu, it just shows blank screen.
@Clyde No, I don't have another SD card, but I am sure this one is not faulty, it was in use in another raspberry till about a week ago. Then I re-flashed it and put retropie on it.

BTW. I reinstalled retropie right now and the problem is still here
I've also checked hashes (compared to what's on retopie site) and it's the same. I will try another monitor, but it's very weird

@blboun Be sure to check the (or better: another) cable, too.

I fixed it, but it is very weird. I connected it to another monitor, standard office FHD, 60Hz monitor and it now works (only on that monitor), it also works on out TV, which is 4K, 120Hz. I don't really understand, what's going on, that it doesn't work especially on my monitor (1440p, 165Hz).
                        Pls devs, fix it =)
