Pi Model or other hardware: Pi Zero W
RetroPie Version Used: Latest, installed yesterday
      Installed via: Raspberry P installer
USB Devices connected: xbox 360 controller
      Controller used: Logitech Gamepad F310
      Error messages received: None
      Emulator: pcsx-rearmed

      Hello,

I have been having some trouble with making my my Pi Zero play PSX.

Now, my controls work flawlessly with all other emulators the controller works fine with the lr version of PCSX-reARMed, I am trying to run the PCSX version because it runs much better on the Pi Zero W.

The only way I was able to map the controls was from the menu that I get after loading a game and pressing "esc". This menu.

The controller is recognized, however I cannot map the L2 and R2. No matter how many times I try to press them, the emulator simply does not recognize the input, thus I cannot map them. I have no such problems with the other emulators.

I read everything online and this is as far as I get. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@mailo i fancy this is because these are analog triggers. some emulators have trouble recognizing them as buttons as they are instead an axis. related issue: https://github.com/notaz/pcsx_rearmed/issues/135

I wonder if this is because RP's default "triggers to buttons" setting? Never really was sure what that was supposed to accomplish, as one of the first things I did was turn it off so that arcade driving games that use RT as accelerator would work correctly.

          /etc/modprobe.d/xpad.conf:

          options xpad triggers_to_buttons=0

Thank you for the suggestion. I see that this is a solution for the GPI case, I tried it on my Pi I am not sure if I am trying it right, but nothing is happening.

I also took a look again at the link you replied to be in another post

            https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Playstation-1/#pcsx-rearmed-controls

But I couldn't see any solution to what I am doing. It is a weird case, as I said, I mapped everything on one PSX game except the triggers. I save it as Global Configuration and I try to play another game and even tough the controls are supposed to work as previously mapped no button works on the controller. Only the keyboard works. Don't know what's wrong with that, it just acts weird.

Any other ideas what it could be.

Thanks for the idea, I tried it but no luck.

@mailo i didn’t imply the issue linked contained a solution - the opposite; the issue is a reported bug that remains open. however i would expect the buttons that aren’t triggers to work. please provide the log (see read this first link) and pcsx config file (see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Playstation-1/#pcsx-rearmed-controls )

Yes. Got it. Well, it is what it is I guess.

My problem with other games turned out to be because I did not switch from Analog to Standard. Once I switched to standard all buttons started to work except for the L2 and R2 of course. Some games are playable this way.
