      I have no sound anywhere. And the S T U P I D

      built from rpi imager
      rpi3b+ on lan
      retropie 4.8
      Usb: 3.5 wireless keyboard, x360 controller
      how to replicate:
      the problem may occur randomly after installing pixel desktop using raspbiantools from setup script
      the only visible audio is master

                Installing the desktop may install PulseAudio, which can break the audio for emulators. You can disable it from the Audiosettings in the RetroPie system.
                Note that if you do that, you'll need to also remove the lxplug-volumepulse package, otherwise when starting the desktop it will cause a crash of the panel, since it doesn't find PulseAudio.

                  audio config always says enable pulseaudio
                  and no matter how it is still enabled

                  And @mitu, dont forget to add apt purge in new version of script and install alsa applet for panel then.

                    Yes, I think it's the lxplug-volume package.

                    audio config always says enable pulseaudio

                    Are you using the latest RetroPie-Setup version ? Did you run an update after installing from the RetroPie image ?
