[Solved] RaspberryPi 5: On-board audio disabled or not present.

Got my hands on an 8 gig RPi 5 and wanted to upgrade the arcade cabinet. I have no sound from HDMI and can't seem to configure it. Running a fresh install of Raspberry Pi OS Lite (64-bit) [Bookworm]
running retropie_setup.sh -> Configuration / Tools -> Audio settings I get the error:
On-board audio disabled or not present.

Seems like the Audio settings are not correctly detecting the cards, I'll take a look to see how they behave, though I don't have a Pi5 yet.
As a workardound, you can install
pipewireandwireplumberand try to configure the audio again.EDIT: can you post the output of
modprobe -l? -

Apparently -l is not an option for modprobe in bookworm

The output of modeprobe -c is long but I hope it has usefull information

Hm, could be. I'm actually interested in the list of loaded modules. Try running
lsmodand posting the output, should be much shorter. -

M Mixer - adjust output volume
R Reset to defaultTested on one mame game and sound definitely worked!
