https://github.com/retropie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/First-Installation:
"On RetroPie 4.0, not everything is installed by default. The pre-made image ships with libretro emulators with a few standalone emulators such as mame4all, mupen64plus and pifba. Ports like quake and doom and other software like ScummVM can be installed later.Software can be installed from the RetroPie-Setup script - which is accessible from the RetroPie menu on Emulation Station. Once there you can Navigate to "Packages" where you will see various section. You can see available packages in each section and which ones are installed. Stable additional packages are under the "Optional" section, with more unstable packages listed under experimental. The packages are ordered by type (emulators / libretro cores / ports), then alphabetically. By selecting a package you can choose or install it, or remove it. Some packages also have additional configuration."

-
@awsd12 in the FBA set street fighter 3 3rd strike is called
sfiii3.zip
- put that in your fba folder and you're good to go!with mame, if you downloaded the full reference set I told you to, you can just put any of the game zips in that in the mame-libretro folder and they will work. if you look on the wiki page the 'compatibility lists' show the file name and the full name for each game.

-
Because you guys are caring people that answer my questions when i Don't understand the wiki :), I get ports and kodi but I don't know how to get cavestory to pie I knw I have to get the file and enlish update thingy but I dont know where the files go ?, In port do I just drag both of them in ?
-
I've been following this thread and biting my tongue, but surely you're taking the piss now?
-
Taking the piss ? I am actually serious. I do read the wiki's and ask about things I don't understand or ask for a direct link.

but I dont know where the files go
I cannot then accept that you have read the instructions. For cave story, they state:
Create a folder called CaveStory in
/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/
Add all of the game files into the CaveStory folder- particularly Doukotsu.exe into
/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/CaveStory
I am actually serious. I do read the wiki's
No, I am not believing it due to the questions being asked. I'm starting to think along the lines of @Ekstreme
-
If it comes across that way my bad, I don't think I am getting the right Cavestory Files so aint going to bother about it. However when I press Tab on my keyboard to edit in game settings such exit back to in game main menu, it doesn't show up I can press select and start to exit the game but it doesnt take me back to the main charcter or game menu ( I m only playing SF3 atm

Why not? You simply download the game that was originally freeware back then. You then locate the patch and run it on the .exe file. You then drag the patched Doukutsu to the folder you made (all according to the wiki instructions) together with the other files that come with the game and when you go to Ports and choose Cave Stoy, it loads up and runs perfectly in English. What did you do to have it not work?

This is a feature of MAME, not FBA.

Well, if you are truly making an effort, could you please help us out? You too can contribute to this project by going back to the wiki pages you tried to understand earlier, and see if you can clarify what is written there. It is only with feedback from beginning users like you, that we can improve the documentation.
Even if you can just point out those parts you think are unclear, and how they should be improved, that would be a help.
This way, everyone benefits, especially new users!
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
