i can share the configs with you from the broken build if you think you can sort it without doing a fresh install, i also have resintalled using a fresh image and yes, it does work. but wiping the card isnt the solution.

this isn't how you get help - be polite if you want me to continue to help you.

I need all your /opt/retropie/configs folder and the /opt/retropie/emulators/pxsx-rearmed folder as well as your /boot/config.txt

Tell me your system specs.

BTW you should make sure you are not overclocking etc when testing all this.

i entered that line, fails to start emulator now.

I will get you the configs you have asked for, as i keep saying this a vanilla build, no modifications to any configs other than using Pixel theme.

i dont know what to say about system specs, its standard pi from a genuine uk shop, build is from website, pixel theme, xbox 360 wireless pad, sandisk 128gb card (and samsung evo+) no fans or sinks fitted. using hdmi with audio out from 3.5mm jack.

How should i get the link to MEGA containing the files to you when ive done them? post here ?

I worked it out from your configs - you should sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get dist-upgrade on your system as you are not up to date with kernel/firmware.

I'm still unable to reproduce the problem with your binaries and configs on a RPI3 I have here (Testing with Tekken 3 - loads/runs fine).

Is there any reason why that would be? i mean, i downloaded latest version and first thing i did on this build was to an update core system.

I only rebuilt this SD a few days ago because i was originally having issues with my 360xbox controller and that damn xboxdrv driver, every time i updated my old SD from last year i said no to the kernel update. and i figured it was time to get with new kids on the block haha

I thought thats what the Core was (ill check the menus choices once this finishes updating), after that i installed all emulators (easier than adding 1 by 1) and removed the few i didnt want.

@a7mag3ddon Core packages ? That's just retroarch, emulationstation, the retropie menu, and the runcommand launcher.

To update retropie fully you need to do "Update all installed packages" from the main menu (it asks about updating system packages too).

Maybe im using the wrong wording, ill check in a minute what it was on the menu.

Still going, but its the one where on the blue update screen it usually says " do you also want to update the kernel that runs the underlying OS " or something like that.
