      Hi all

      It's my first time posting here although I've spent many hours going through the forum.

      I've been using Retropie 3.7 for just over two weeks now. I built it from the standard image. Everything is going really smoothly apart from my two generic PS3 controllers (which neither register as Gasia or Shanwan but only as a Sony PS3 controller so I've only really had success with the standard driver) not working over bluetooth but that's an issue for another thread and it seems like many people are on it at this stage.

      Today I ran "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" to upgrade to the latest kernel to see if it might help out with the above mentioned bluetooth situation, however after a restart I seem to have lost my wifi.

      I did no other changes at the same time so I'm 100% confident these two things are related.

      sudo iwlist wlan0 channel now results in "wlan0 no frequency information" instead of showing the available frequencies.

      Also ifconfig produces the following output which indicates to me that the wifi's been nuked. Note the lack of wlan0:

      eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr b8:27:eb:0e:ed:5d
      inet addr:10.0.0.9 Bcast:10.0.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
      inet6 addr: fe80::eea:6f5d:b37e:fb82/64 Scope:Link
      UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
      RX packets:2067 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
      TX packets:1260 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
      collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
      RX bytes:147174 (143.7 KiB) TX bytes:217392 (212.2 KiB)

      lo Link encap:Local Loopback
      inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0
      inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host
      UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:65536 Metric:1
      RX packets:4 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
      TX packets:4 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
      collisions:0 txqueuelen:1
      RX bytes:240 (240.0 B) TX bytes:240 (240.0 B)

      Is anyone else experiencing the same? What is going to be the simplest remedy? I'd rather not reimage my SD card if I don't have to.

      I just thought I would post this as a warning in the very least to others with a RPi3.

      Thanks!
