I am using mupen64plus-glide64 (retropie version 4.1.16) for a few games, to keep them from crashing and having visual errors like they do with the default emulator (lr-mupen64plus).

      I am on Ubuntu 16.10 64bit.

mupen64plus-glide64 appears to resolve all of those problems. Unfortunately, it renders to only a tiny part of the full screen:

I'm also unable to get into RetroArch's ingame menu. Select + Start still exists the game, but the other select hot keys don't seem to be working.

I'm sure this is an easy fix, but I'm having trouble finding the right config to edit! Please help! :-D

@JoshuaD Mupen64 standalone is not a RetroArch (libretro) core. Therefore there is no RetroArch menu available.

Ah, thanks. That makes sense. Are there are other n64 emulators that ARE retroarch cores aside from mupenplus (the default one that i'm using)?

I tried going through all of the packages, but didn't see anything else that said "n64" or anything like that, so I wasn't sure what to install.

I'm fine with using mupen64plus-glide64 if I can fix this resolution issue, too! Any solution that lets me play this game works for me. :-)

@JoshuaD Please do not post a support request without first reading and following the advice in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first (provide more information - don't know what platform you are on etc). RPI video options are different from running on X11 etc.

@BuZz Hi Buzz! I did read that page (twice) and tried very hard to find a solution before posting here. but you're right, I forgot to include the system I'm on. Editing that in now. Thanks!

@JoshuaD Thanks. Will get back to you after testing. You could also try another video plugin (or for a pc, you may find lr-parallel-n64 better).

You should update also as the n64 emulators have been renamed.

Looks like a wrong output resolution. Open /opt/retropie/configs/n64/mupen64plus.cfg, find section video and modify resolution there.

This is correct, you need to manually adjust the resolution to match your actual screen. And yes, the standalone emulator is much better for n64 games than the retroarch core.

@gizmo98 That did the trick. Thanks!
