Old PS3 controller dying. Getting a Dualshock 4 or another Dualshock3?

By now, the Dualshock 4 works 100% with Retropie using bluetooth? Or is better stick with Dualshock 3 for better compatibility?

If you have a Ps4 controller, you can use that one. If you need to buy one, I recommend a ps3 controller because they are way cheaper and you have the same functionality as the Ps4 controller.
