@dudleydes thanks for the note. I tried this, but no luck. The tab menu p1 controls still doesn't recognize my ps3 right analog stick.

I just did a trial run using one of my own controllers and it only showed results using event codes rather than js. For those, you'll need to run evtest. What you're looking for there is any listing that starts with "BTN_" after a button is pressed. When a direction is pressed on the DPad, you'll likely see up to three of these. I'll also need to know the event number it's coming from, like "event0" or whatever.

@Oneminde just found this thread after replying to your other post with the UMSA. Did you end up going that way or this. I ask as I've only found HDMI SCART adaptors that are composite not an RGBs option.

I'm going into SCART on a B&O MX4002 TV. That is looking for RGB composite sync (I think from my reading). Very keen to get a true RGB path and 240p for all the scanline goodness.

I gave up trying to find a HDMI to RGB SCART adaptor so have gone HDMI to VGA to UMSA to TV. I've also got an Extron Rxi 202 lying around in case the plan A doesn't work. They can take the VGA H/V sync and output whatever type of RGB sync you need via BNC. Can also convert 480i to 240p with a dip switch on the Extron.

I'll post back once my UMSA is in the chain with results but keen to hear how you've got on.

I've been doing a ton of experimentation with xboxdrv here lately. Unfortunately, none of that experimentation has involved an actual XBox 360 controller. What I too have found is that it seems to universally grab the events from whatever physical controller it's working with and adds a new virtual device. The rub, as you have noticed here, is that it does nothing to remove or even obfuscate the original physical js device entry if one exists. I was working under the assumption that it would remove the entry when using an actual XBox controller, but apparently it does not.

I too am actively considering a few possibilities on how to handle this best, but have not settled on what I would consider a perfect solution. I don't do a lot of multi-player gaming sessions, so it's a problem I plan to put more thought into later, but for now, might I suggest invoking the Rgui during your gaming session and rearranging the controller order to where it is assigned past the number of players that you have. It's not ideal, but it will work.

Edit: Also, @meleu has developed a great way to rearrange the controller order. His work can be found at:

@dotEXE You can by modifying the single "retroarch.cfg" file in /opt/retropie/configs/psx.
If you can upload the file here for me I can try to modify it for you.

do you mean /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads ? Files in there are only overwritten if the input configuration is changed from within emulationstation (for the controller in question).

you could try and force it by editing /etc/init.d/asplashscreen and finding the lines with "omxplayer" in and adding the additional parameter -o local

HI ! Really sorry for hijacking this thread with my own question but I never managed to get an answer :)

Why are you hijacking? I don't mind adding additional content to this, but if you already asked this question somewhere, why didn't you continue the conversation with whomever responded?

@maddog5683 Did you end up getting it working?

I was able to on a Rpi 3, following Adafruit's 3.5 section on the above referenced opengl/emulators guide.

Unfortunately, the kernel that the adafruit-pitft-helper installs is something like RetroPIE 4.1.14 v7, where the newest version, that the gamecon GPIO driver works with is 4.4.something. (Sorry don't have it running in front me.) I can actually see it uninstalling the gamecon module when I run the pitft-helper scripts, and then can't re-install gamecon from the RetroPIE setup util...

Hi there - it's pretty easy, just set it up as normal. After first boot the script will automatically expand the partition to fit the entire SD card.

@ShootHere if you can narrow it down that would be good, but I'm guessing it's something to do with your setup as you're the only one so far that's mentioned it as an issue.

It's also possible it's due to sd corruption/or USB corruption, possible it was interrupted or something. Could be a myriad of things. Might also be worth trying diff methods of mounting the USB etc. If you do a full binary install it should repopulate the config if you don't have a backup and you can see if you can reproduce it.
