@Keoky said in Daphne Dragons Lair no sound:

@Riverstorm I used my old DL1+2, Space Ace dvds to unlock the files in daphne-Pc. Worked fine with all DVDs. Everything works on the PC. Then I copied the files to my RP3 without the dat so that it will be newly initialized in daphne-pie. DL2, Space Ace no problems. DL1 sound stops after pressing play.

It sounds like you did it perfect. I am stumped as I used Daphne for Dragon's Lair 2. I already had a good HD blu-ray rip of Dragon's Lair and Space Ace and the sound is working good. I use the 20th anniversary edition 3 box set if needed with Daphne as they don't officially support blu-ray rips they are ok with running them from command line.

P.s: did somebody managed to start badlands or Road Blaster yet? I know that the wiki says that they are not working in the moment. Any luck?

The games I have tested and work so far:

    Dragon's Lair
    Dargon's Lair 2
    Space Ace
    Cobra Command
    M.A.C.H. 3
    Super Don Quix-ote

Here's a great link with how to link different ROM sets (i.e. - use Dragon's Lair Enhanced 2.1 with the same files/tile set to save a whole lot of space).

I can't seem to get GenesisPlusGX to work at all. I have the correct BIOS, but all I get when I boot it up is a blank screen. That makes two problems. Ugh.

Remember Bios names are different from Picodrive and GenesisPlusGX, they are also case sensitive.

No worries! You will have a similar thing with games like Joust, Sinistar, Robotron, etc - you can use F2 (service mode) to get past these. I just soft reset to proceed as service mode is not mapped to my PiCade. Most things like this are covered in the above link.

    Cheers

You're absolutely right, all cases solved by replacing the rom file with a good one. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks, I've wired in a shutdown button and a button to change the audio from the 3.5mm jack (goes to speaker) when playing on the 10.1" screen I've put in the case to HDMI when plugged into an external monitor. Going to put a couple of backup SD cards in the case for when/if something goes wrong. I like the idea of the psu pico but it would mean changing my pi case to make room and I also can't spend any more money on this!

Hello, I have solved the Problem. In order to add a permanent IP Adress, you will Need to amend the cmdline.txt file inside the boot Directory. Type the following:
    sudo nano /boot/cmdline.txt
Add the following text add the very end of the Code string:
    ip=192.168.0.28
Remember to add 1 space before "ip" - you can also use 192.168.0.28 if you want. Exit the file by pressing CTRL+X, save by pressing Y, and Exit by pressing ENTER.

    Hi
Not sure which mame emulator you are using but some do not use the controller set up from emulation station. You can try to press tab while you are in a rom or game in mame and and than use input general to configure the ps controller and that should work for all other games within mame once configured this way but will not affect the controller setup outside of mame.

Have you built your own Attract Mode setup? If so, if it runs by just typing "attract" then yes, that file I linked to above should work.

X allows programs to use a certain GUI method:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X_Window_System

This is what Attract Mode used to require, but now it can be run with or without X. xinit starts X.

the /opt/retropie/configs/ files are not that usefull (not the default.cfg)

"home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-libretro/mame2003/cfg/default.cfg" is likely what I want the file was binary blob and not what I expected deleted it will test again. thanks.

You need a joystick with an analogue stick or a mouse. SDL2 changed the way the input works, so there is no other way currently.
