      Re: 8Bitdo Pain

I read that post. But its a bit old, and I don't understand the steps.
If I have my 8bitdo controller connected to the pie via usb it works, in game and in the emulationstation.

But when its paired with bluetooth and I use the bluetooth mode, it only works in emulationstation =/
I have configured the inputs in emulationstation. Need help ^^

I have latest Retropie and latest firmware on the controllers.

@lesk Which controller model do you have ? Check this topic for a good overview of the new 8bitdo controllers ( SF30 Pro and SN30 Pro) if you happen to have one.

          Thanks for the reply!
I followed the link but it showed me how to make posts ^^

          • I have a raspberry pie3
          • RetroPie is v4.3
          • 8btido SFC30 with latest firmware 4.10.
          • The controllers work with usb connected, both in games and in emulationstation.
          • I have paired both controls.
          • Using them via bluetooth only works in emulationstation. They dont work in game.

What I meant was this, but you don't seem to have any of those models.
Make sure you start the controller in the correct mode when pairing - see http://jp.8bitdo.com/sfc30/manual.html. I had no problems pairing and using the controller via bluetooth.
Also, regarding the initial read-me-first-link - even if the instructions specifically ask for the precise RetroPie version and do not write latest, you still did it...

              Thank you, changed it!

Yes, I have followed the instructions on how to pair it. That all works. I can use it via bluetooth in emulationstation. But it stops working as soon as I start a game.

What mode did you use for the raspberry pie? It dosen't say. But as how the pairing worked I don't think that's the problem.

@lesk You would pair it just like for a PC (Windows). Normally just press Start for 3 seconds and it will start to blink blue with one pulse. I'd suggest you reset the controller to the defaults, remove the BT pairing from RetroPie and start again using the PC mode and do the pairing and then reconfiguring in ES.

I did this. But still it does not work in any game. Only in Emulationstation as I stated before.

I tried one thing last night. While connected via bluetooth I went into config and then retroarch.
There I found user binding(or something like that under inputs) and I used my controller and rebind all the keys there, and pressed auto save config.
Aaaaaand I could use it in game! But the hotkeys dont work. I cant quit games, cant load save slots or change save slots. So im still puzzled.
