    I have 4 ps4 controllers set up un retropie and they all seem to work fine until i launch a 4 player game like mario kart 64 and only 2 controllers function, any ideas on what could be the problem?

      Did you check out the documentation here?

      https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Super-Nintendo-Entertainment-System/

      The last bit of info says :

      3-5 Players
      lr-snes9x and lr-snes9x2010 are the only emulators that support multitap. Multitap support is disabled by default due to it breaking two-player games that don't support it.

      To enable multitap, launch the multitap supported game you wish to enable multitap support in, go to "RGUI/Main Menu/Quick Menu/Controls", change "User 2 Device Type" to "Multitap", then go back to the "Quick Menu" and select "Save Game Overrides" at the bottom of the menu.

        @thedatacereal That's for SNES, not for N64.

              ok, so i figured out the reason, mario kart is reading each dualshock 4 controller as 2 controllers (1 is nomal buttons and 2nd one is motion sensing en each controll) so any one knows how to disable n64 reading motion sensing in the controlls?

                  @arturochu
                  I have this exact same problem were you able to figure it out?
                  I even manually tried changing the mupen64plus.cfg file. It gets overwritten when the emulator is launched. I then change the permissions to read only on the file and it is no longer overwritten but the issue remains. Player 1 and Player 2 are on one dualshock controller and Player 3 and 4 are on the other dualshock controller.

                    Has anyone figured out a solution?

                    @hophead05
                    I also have the same problem and same controller. If I change to other n64-emulator the controller works but the emulation is slow.
