As the title says, I have 4 zero delay usb encoders. I have configured them all in emulation station. My third and 4th player only uses 4 of the buttons. When I start simpsons or xmen 4 player version on fba, all input works for 1st and 2nd player however for third and 4th the select and start button works and only the "y" button works. The game is not detecting anything when I press "a" or "b" on 3rd and 4th. However I can still move around with them. So I cannot jump and attack in those games with third and 4th player. What am I missing?
Running retropie with raspberry pi 3b+ latest version I believe. Help thanks!

I think that if you have the same kind (model/vendor) for the encoders, the same input mapping applies to all - you can't configure them individually - so it's important that all encoders are wired in the same way. I don't have such a contraption to test, but I've seen similar issues because of different wiring - i.e. P1 Button A produces a keycode, P2 button A produces another keycode, but RetroArch applies the same mapping for all input sources (since they have the same name/ids). You can test this theory with jstest - see here.
Are you using RetroArch - i.e. lr-fbalpha - or standalone FBAlpha ? Please add more information about your system as requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

@mitu I am using the lr fba, I was very careful with the usb encoders when connecting the wires but ill double check em when I get. I just think its weird how third and 4th works in emulationstation fine but not in game

@omg209 got it figured out. Had to use key bindings in retroarch. Bind all for player 3 and 4.
