How to register a mouseclick on PX68K (Sharp X68000)

Is this possible? I can get it to track mouse movement and move the cursor around absolutely fine, but when I click any of the buttons nothing happens (in either lr-px68k and basic px68k). I've tried every keyboard shortcut and joystick button I can think of but nothing will actually trigger a click.
