Games not launching

I just reinstalled Retropie like five minutes ago and none of my games will launch.

Pi 4B 1 GB
Adafruit 3.5 amp PSU
Logitech F310
No error messages. Just gives me the typical grey box and then I'm back on the home screen.

How did you install RetroPie on the PI4 ?

I used the master branch from github, following the guide in the Retropie Docs.

You need to give more details about what game/system you're using and post a log file (/dev/shm/runcommand.log) from the emulator starting.

I'm in the runcommand menu. How do I get to the .log file?

The games I'm trying to use:
NES-Contra
NES-Galaga
NES-Super Contra
Ports-LZDOOM
GBA-Pokemon Ruby
GBC-Pokemon Crystal
GBC-The Legend of Zelda Links Awakening

The only things that work are anything in the Retropie menu and Kodi.

Launch the game, then get the /dev/shm/runcommand.log file contents and post it here.

I unplugged the SD card. It's currently in my Chromebook. SHM is empty.

Yes, that folder (/dev/shm) is RAM backed, so its contents are not actually saved on the card. You need to get the file (via SSH) right after you've run the game.

I've survived the crisis. This is the error:
undefined symbol: bcm_host_is_fkns_active

What did you use as a base image ? Did you install manually over the latest Raspbian Lite image ?

1: make sure to have bios files.
2: game is corrupted, needs fixing.
When you get taken to home screen the game is missing a required file to run so instead it takes you to home page.

to save your self hassle and pain, install retroarch on pc/laptop and play with your roms on that before you shift them to the pie

@mitu I used Raspbian Buster Full and manually installed.
@simonc NES, GBA, GBC etc. doesn't need BIOS. Also, NONE of my games work, so It can't be corrupted ROMs. And for the third thing, I posted earlier that I only have a Chrome OS computer.

That's it. I nanoed into it after starting Contra.

Well done. Except the error message is most likely about a missing bcm_host_is_fkms_active. It seems like you're using an old kernel/firmware (?). Run this, on the PI, from the command line:

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade

let it upgrade everything, then reboot and see if it works.
