    So I've been using Retropie for many years, and it wasn't until recently upgrading to a Pi 4 with a fresh installation that I've run into this.

    For some reason, I cannot get the Aspect Ratio setting to stick if I change it to "Core" and then save Game Overrides.

    I'm fine leaving it with the automatic, default "Custom" ratio for most of my games, but for some vertically scrolling shooters I want to set it to Core ratio with integer scaling.

    What's weird is that it will remember my Integer Scaling selection for any game that I save overrides for, but it always reverts back to the Custom aspect ratio no matter what I do.

    To make matters even weirder, a handful of times it has actually worked. Like just for a few random games that I've tried. I don't get it. Game overrides are supposed to take precedence over global and core, right? I also can't seem to find the files being generated by these individual game overrides anyway. I've looked through plenty of documentation to no avail.

    Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as this is driving me bonkers.

      @scoularis
      I also upgraded from Pi3 -> Pi4 and had the issue that all vertical 4:3 games (Arcade-Shmupc etc.) were displayed in fullscreen mode by default.
      I did not have this with Pi1,Pi2 and Pi3.

      So what i did:

      • RGUI ->
      • Settings -> Video -> Scaling
      • changed "Scaling" to "1:1"
      • Quickmenu -> "Overrides" -> save Game-Overrides

      This works great so far :).

        @scoularis please provide a verbose log of the issue, and the override .cfgs involved.
