      Really hope one you can help soon. Have a RPi 3 B+ running the 3image from retropi. I have a ROM that I can get to run fine in Mame 2000 but that is about it (tried a slew of other emulators without any success). When I exit the game (exit on the keyboard for the input) it will freeze up MAME solid. Have to power off to get back in.

      I have seen a lot of posts about trying other emulators, but I have not had any success. Is there anything else I can do? Obviously my this post I am newer to RPi and RetroPi as well.

        @azurden You need to get a matching romset for the emulator used. Downloading a random rom and trying on different emulators is not the right solution for arcade games. mame2000 is not a good emulator choice for your hardware also. lr-mame2003 would be good initial choice for your system to get a few games up and running but you will need the matching MAME 0.78 roms.

          @buzz

          I appreciate the pointers. I recognize that I need to do more reading. The issue is I made a custom cab for my daughter for Christmas. The rom I am having issues with is her favorite game (and of course is the one with the issue). So at any rate my time is very short to have this all finished up before Santa comes! So I am rushing through figuring this all out on the fly.

          So, what you are basically saying is that I need to find somehow find the specific ROM that was made with MAME 0.78? Is there a KB on how to determine what version a rom is? I a so sorry for asking noob questions. Really just trying to force myself through this project.

            @azurden it’s trivial to acquire mame roms of a certain version, but we can’t assist as per the rules. do not try and find roms and then determine their version after the fact - hundreds of mame rom versions so it will almost certainly be wrong. find the version you need.
