Retropie & rasbian

Hi all,

I've tried installing retropie on my raspbian raspberry pi 4 using the terminal & it was not succesful.
Before trying again (it took about 2 hours to set up before the error appeared), i'd like to know if i can still use my raspberry pi with regular raspbian after the install?

I use it for my domoticz system, as well as a browser on my tv & to make video calls in the living room.

Sorry if this is explained clearly somewhere, I'd like to be sure before trying again.

RetroPie is Raspbian btw. It's Raspbian lite, but the desktop can be installed later. Can't help without more information though.

I'm not looking for technical advice right now.

I have a raspberry pi up and running now.
I use it to browse the internet on TV and to run a home automation system called domoticz.

I would like to know if i install retropie using the terminal, will my current setup still operate as it does now?

@pieterken without being familiar with the software we can't really say but retropie sits on top of raspbian, so anything that runs as a background process/daemon (which is what i assume 'domoticz' is) should still be running.

what do you use the browse the internet on TV? normal raspbian? you can launch into the pixel desktop via retropie: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/FAQ/#where-did-the-desktop-go
