      @folly Sounds great yes.
      how easy is it for you to add a new handler under the hard_reset so menu has an exit/quit function

      PS Actually i d say leave 4:3 as ppl will complain. they can change by the aspect ratio right in menu, correct?

      Your friend,

        Don't know.
        Perhaps I can.

        Ok , I restore it after my test.

          @folly compiled and tested!
          All good with volume!

          about the handler i was looking at the menu.c code and seems a new entry for Exit\Quit can be added. I probably could do with testing but I think you are more advanced coder to meprintscreen04_06_2021--h19-m33-s19.jpg

          The gui menu also pops up with WIN Key :-)

            For C/C++ I am not that advanced, but indeed I did some little things and I want to learn some more things.
            Perhaps I can find it, then I will let you know.

            Did you know how I found the settings ?
            I just used the grep command in the terminal, like this :

            pi@raspberrypi:~/the_source_directory $ grep -r volume

            This will give all the files and lines that contain "volume".
            That is the way I found the file.
            So that is something you can do too.

            The gui menu also pops up with WIN Key :-)

            I will add this to the help in the module-script.

              I think the master model not working ok or is just game related
              see ABYSS booting messed upprintscreen04_07_2021--h21-m03-s36.jpg
              airwolf wont boot at all on both

              best compatibility is on lr-mess and the advmess
              lr mess boots all games except a protoype that loads on b-em
              I guess setting up a set in ES will require diff emus per games

              Not a prob but just wanted to give you my feedback

                Thanks for your feedback.

                I noticed this also with a few demos and a few games.
                I think it's b-em related.
                Though, I see that some games and demos only work on b-em.

                With xmaster I also notice strange charachters sometimes.
                Don't know what is causing this.

                    Indeed, that could be the case.
                    We keep that in mind.

                      • Is there a way to speed up tape loading on lr-mess electron ?
                      • ssd not working with flop1?
                      • is there a similar quick load as SHIFT+F12 for tapes ?

                        Use fast-forward by pressing the hotkey "space" to speed up for a while.
                        Don't know other methods, for now.

                        • ssd not working with flop1?

                        Tested a few and all worked.
                        Perhaps not all files are supported.
                        (Press a few times shift+f12 until it loads)
                        .ssd should work as listed here :

                        Read this post, you could create a similar .cmd file for a bbcmicro game :
                        https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/28345/old-computer-appreciation-thread/1025
                        Don't know if there is an other way though.

                        You can find much information on :
                        https://www.mamedev.org/

                          My ques above all were related to electron wiht mess. Ill test the fast fwrd

                          By the way the Elkulator is the best for instant loading.
                          The official side is missing the linux binary from the zip file. I wanted to test but needs compiling.

                          Elkulator v1.0 Linux supplement

                          Compiling
                          ~~~~~~~~~
                          You will need the following libraries :
                          Allegro 4.x
                          OpenAL
                          ALut
                          Zlib
                          Open a terminal window, navigate to the Elkulator directory then enter
                          ./configure
                          make
                          then ./elkulator to run.
                          Elkulator has been tested on x86-32 and x86-64 machines. No other architecture is guaranteed
                          to work, and big-endian machines (eg PowerPC) almost certainly won't work.
                          The menu is not available all the time. Press F11 to open it, then F11 to close again.
                          The debugger is only available via the command line.
                          Hardware line doubling mode is not available on Linux.
                          Fullscreen mode doesn't appear to work correctly, at least on my machine. Elkulator takes over
                          the screen, but the resolution never changes.
                          Video performance is noticeably slower than on Windows. This is largely due to the lack
                          of hardware acceleration support in Elkulator.
                            Will try electron with lr-mess. (.ssd should be supported : mame -listmedia electron )
                            Will do some search on that Elkulator.
                              I compiled Elkulator successfully on the pi4.
                              But now I have to find the roms.
                              I did some guess work and added some blank dummy files.
                              It looks like it can work, here is the proof !
                              2021-06-02-174925_1600x900_scrot-resized.png
                              This is how I did the compile :
                              • Download the source :
                                https://github.com/stardot/elkulator
                              • Extract this and go to the directory with :
                              cd /home/pi/Downloads/elkulator-master
                              • Install the packages (aclocal wasn't found, so I used autotools-dev instead) :
                              sudo apt-get install automake liballegro4-dev zlib1g-dev libalut-dev libopenal-dev autotools-dev
                              • compile using :
                              aclocal -I m4
                              automake -a
                              autoconf
                              ./configure
                              make
                              • Run Elkulator
                              ./elkulator
                              (Edit : I found all the roms, which are shipped with the windows version 1.0 )
                              It will ask for the roms, one by one :
                              • os
                              • os300.rom
                              • adfs.rom
                              • dfs.rom
                              • basic.rom
                              • sndrom
                              • plus1.rom
                              All the correct sha1sum's are :
                              pi@raspberrypi:~/Downloads/elkulator-master $ sha1sum os;sha1sum *rom* | sort -k2
                                    @2play
                                    I tried electron with lr-mess, but I am missing 1 bios rom (os_basic.ic2), so I have to search for that.
                                    What I found was that you talked about -flop1 but electron uses -flop.
                                    Try that for a change, I think this is the solution.
                                    btw.
                                    How are you installing this ?
                                    Are you doing this all by hand ?
                                    You can use my script you know,
                                      So we should make a module-script of that !
                                        @folly I ll test the flop, you probably right
                                        I m having a custom setup so all ok. no worries
                                        you might have also to put 1 (enable adfs) in elk.cfg
                                          With this you will see that only flop exists :
                                          /opt/retropie/emulators/mame/mame -listmedia electron
                                          SYSTEM           MEDIA NAME       (brief)    IMAGE FILE EXTENSIONS SUPPORTED
                                          ---------------- --------------------------- -------------------------------
                                          electron         cassette         (cass)     .wav  .csw  .uef
                                                           floppydisk       (flop)     .ssd  .bbc  .img  .dsd  .adf  .ads  .adm  .adl  .d77  .d88  .1dd  .dfi  .hfe  .imd  .ipf  .mfi  .mfm  .td0  .cqm  .cqi  .dsk
                                                           printout         (prin)     .prn
                                                           cartridge1       (cart1)    .rom  .bin
                                                           cartridge2       (cart2)    .rom  .bin
                                          You should read my thread :
                                          https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/29682/development-of-module-script-generator-for-lr-mess-and-mame-standalone
                                          If you use this line it wil automatically create the electron module-script for you, without any human mistakes :
                                          In the ext directory :
                                          curl "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/FollyMaddy/RetroPie-Share/main/00-scripts-00/generate-systems-lr-mess_mame-2v1-ext.sh" | bash -s electron
                                          Or in the plain directory :
                                          curl "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/FollyMaddy/RetroPie-Share/main/00-scripts-00/generate-systems-lr-mess_mame-2v1.sh" | bash -s electron
                                          Just install in RetroPie-Setup and you are good to go.
                                          Bioses have to go in /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/mame !
