Connecting Coin Machine to 3 pin USB Controller
-
I bought the X-Arcade Coin Machine and trying to connect it into my Arcade build. Whats really frustrating, is I had this working in a test environment, but of course, now that I'm putting it into my arcade build, things are being wonky.
I am also having this issue, and not sure if they are related:
https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/33907/gamepad-1-not-responding-after-game-start(I'm also learning as I go with this Arcade build, so I apologize if I use incorrect terms, or don't explain things correctly)
There are only 2 wires that come from the Coin Machine. The buttons that I have are 3 wire. I know that one of those wires is for the light on the button. So in a test, I cut 2 of those wires (Keeping the light wire intact). Then I joined one with the hot from the coin machine, then the other with the neutral from the coin machine.
In a test this work, so the coin button worked, but the coin machine also acted as the coin button.
Now that everything is installed, the button works, but the coin machine isn't working as a selector. It just does nothing.
Not sure how to test what is wrong, as I'm getting really tired of going through the process of deleting all controllers in Emulation Station, then restarting and adding them again.

@FiberArch make sure the wiring is in parallel configuration. both the coin button and coin acceptor should function independently, but lead to the same pins on the encoder

@lostless Thanks.
Swapped the connection between the USB boards, and that worked. Must not have been in parallel config.
